People and Their Profession |
The economy of our activity area is largely dependant on agricultural farming, but a portion of the population live on indigenous trades like weaving and cane mat making. Most of the female population remains busy in their daily household work, but those who contribute / help in the economic activities do not get proper recognition as income earners. Actually women’s position is no exception here- it is same as in the other part in Bangladesh – they are most under-privileged population. Status of the children from poor families is not good either. Although formal primary education is being provided to all the children but quite a substantial number of children drop out every year. The reason is the rate of child Labour being increased day by day. |
